Byron Puck expressed his excitement about the presence of 12 Cinco Jotas acorn-fed hams at the 2025 Oscars, two more than in the previous edition. In addition, there will be three master carvers from the ham brand to serve it. The menu will also include seafood paella, sushi, and high-quality Miyazaki wagyu beef, considered the most expensive in the world. For dessert, 150 kilos of chocolate were used to recreate figures of the Oscar statuette coated in gold paint, along with cigars with smoke made from liquid nitrogen.
As for the cocktails at the Academy Awards, Don Julio reposado and blanco tequila will be served, along with a series of handcrafted and exclusive cocktails for the occasion. Mixologist Charles Joly and his team have designed a range of special cocktails inspired by the gala colors and ceremony themes, with names like 'Standing Ovation' or 'The Clear Winner,' highlighting the flavors of Mexico with ingredients such as hibiscus flower, Sichuan pepper, and ancho chili.
The preparation for the Oscar dinner involved 14-hour days for Wolfgang Puck's team, responsible for the menu. The chef revealed that the food is prepared in one day to maintain freshness. The menu will feature around 70 dishes, from Chinese duck, desserts with 150 kilos of chocolate, Spanish ham to debut dishes like spicy pad thai noodles and beef wellington.
Byron Puck detailed that the Chinese duck is the most elaborate dish on the celebrities' table, as it requires 12 days to achieve the exact meat point, although the 85 Miyazaki Japanese steak is considered 'the best steak in the world.' Tequila and acorn-fed ham will also highlight the evening.
